Tomorrow’s destination: Because I’m not very good at stopping, Luisa and I are going to our little corner of Cologne tomorrow. In this photo, you could almost argue that it is literally “our” corner of the area, as it’s the corner of Hauptstasse and Börschgasse. Pictured is the farmhouse my dad grew up in.
Tuesday. It was so hot. So very, very, very hot. I melted. Luisa fell asleep in her wagon and woke up wet with sweat. Luckily, my Oma has one of these things you rarely find in Germany: A lush, green, private little yard. She also had this little basin. I filled it up with lukewarm water, took off Luisa’s little dress and plopped her in and there she splashed away until she splished all the water out of the tub.
And I cheered her on with every drop of water that landed on me.
