All other things aside…

How is it possible that a man named Newt* has come this far in politics?

Whenever I hear anything about Mr. Newt, I think of the part in the Roald Dahl book Matilda where a classmate puts a newt into Ms. Trunchbull’s water pitcher and Matilda  knocks it over with her brain power.

(*even if it is the nickname for Newton — which is not much better — it’s still the name he goes by).
