Please note!
Flutes are not appropriate toys for playing in the park. Especially one that is surrounded by residential buildings. For fun outside, please see bikes, shovels, pails, sand-castle making stuff, balls, kites and skipping ropes. Thank you.

byronic asked: Where can we read the interview about Lance Armstrong going to the moon? ;-)
(No, seriously, is it going to be published somewhere we can read it?)

Coolest. Interview. Yet.
I just interviewed a former Apollo scientist. Yes. This man worked on the Apollo programme in 1959. He did stuff that helped put Niel Armstrong and Buzz Aldridge on the moon. Amazing!

Lunch brilliance*
I took the homemade zucchini and tomato sauce from Saturday’s pasta dinner and added it to some stock, reheated it, blended it and now I  have tomato and zucchini soup. *At least, I think so…

In which we pretend we're in an F. Scott...
Background: My friend Kristen is coming to visit in June for two weeks. We mostly bond over common enemies, including our most hated foe: pants. We also share a love for nonsense and teamwork.
---------
Sabine: I hope the weather is nice enough that we can go an entire two weeks sans pantaloons, britches, trousers, bermudas, bloomers, knickers or slacks.
Kristen: Delightful. I shall bring my monocle and walking stick.
Sabine: I will dust off my derby.
Kristen: Splendid. I’ll get Julio to fetch my tails and cummerbund from the steamer trunk in the west wing.
Sabine: Lovely. I'll have Lucy make up the guest chambers for you. I'll also instruct her that no eggs are to touch any food that is to be served to you.
Kristen: NO EGGS! I mean no eggs. Sorry. I didn’t mean to shout. Sebastian is practicing skeet shooting indoors and it makes quite a racket.
Sabine: Oh that Sebastian. I do love to hear what sort of inappropriate indoor behaviours he gets up to. I think my dear husband and I are about to retire to the sleeping quarters for the evening. Do keep me abreast of your travel plans.
Kristen: I do so hope that you both doze soundly.

Chicken puns
Sabine: This chicken had really thick skin.
Josh: Maybe it had a mean wife.
Sabine: It's a gay chicken?
Josh: Or husband.
Sabine: I bet he was a cock.

Cuteness personified.
It’s been a while since I’ve heard about anything adorable my four-year-old nephew has done, but apparently, last week, he was full of it. While at a soccer game, Peter was rattling on about dinosaurs and other things that make him look like a smarty pants. He knew the rules to soccer. He can list every NFL team. He knows the names of all dinosaurs. It was on the latter he was...

Long interviews are loonnng. They are even longer when you have to transcribe them. I feel a little cross eyed now.

Munich is pretty
… from what I’ve seen of it. Yesterday we went to Schwangau to see the Neuschwanstein Schloss. Then I went to see a play after having an unfortunate experience at the Pinguin Restaurant at Max Weber Platz. Today, I’m doing an interview with the theatre manager of the company that put on said play, and then, finally, in the afternoon, I can traipse around the city to my...

Papal pussy Chico resumes tweeting →
zebrasomg: Last year someone at the Vatican had the epiphany that Chico, the pope’s cat, should have his own twitter account. I like to think that it was the pope himself, or his cat Chico, but sadly, I don’t think either of them know English. (True Slant) You can follow Chico on Twitter @popes_cat Z!OMG! We already are!
