Jitr 1.0.0 released →
joshdevins:
Much to Sabine’s delight, Jitr has finally been released to the wild. Many long nights and days will hopefully be worth it!
I’d like to grow up and be beautiful. I know it doesn’t matter, but...

Siggghhhhh
My faith in humanity will never be restored until Nickelback stops winning awards, even if they are Junos. But besides that, there are sooooo many good Canadian bands and that these nitwits keep getting awards is really sad.
Also, why was Simple Plan there?
Dinner is going to be all kinds of awesome tonight
Thanks to The Kitchn’s poultry themed week, I’ve been wanting fried chicken. It’s not as easy here because thighs and drumsticks don’t come as neatly butchered as they are in Canada. It’s always one chunk and as much as I love cooking, I’m still a little disturbed by butchering — though I’d like to be better at it.
But yesterday, I was going by the meat...
I love a man in a good suit
But then today I discovered a man in a good suit on a bicycle and my mind is blown.
Court rules against PETA campaign that likens... →
Good to know PETA’s stupidity is international. Seriously, who the fuck funds these idiots? (oh right…).
You want to save animals, give money to a no-kill shelter, a pet rescue or your local vegetarian support club to promote vegetarianism, rather than antagonize omnivores.

Conundrum
How does one replant seedless grapes?
Update!
They use cuttings.
Thanks Rob.
Berlin
I don’t get you. This morning it was sunny, I thought I would go for a bike ride. Then the clouds came as I ate my musli and yoghurt. I decided to do some computing. I look out my window, and it’s snowing.
Now, I’ve recoiled with shock as the day star burns again. WTF?
I still love you though.
UPDATED: It is now blizzarding. Seriously. Or Hurricaining. I don’t know....
Since I'll miss 'The City' so much tonight. Oh...

Notre weekend en France! →
Avec les photos!

I'm back in Brrrrrrlin
…. and never eating another croissant again.
Totally kidding. Our weekend was amazing. Our hosts were our friend’s parents — they live in a gorgeous villa in the hills near Grasse. We went skiing/snowboarding Friday in a really bitter cold wind but fresh, dry snow — really, some of the best powder I’ve ridden in a really long time (Pacific Coast snow is really wet and heavy)....
En France
So far I’ve eaten:
Croissants
Macarons
Frites
Merguez sausages on fresh baguette in a hut in the French alps where a donkey lodges
Cheese cheese cheese
A giant short bread cookie
So much fresh bread
I’m away doing the France dance.
One time, I went to the bar with my cousin Dave and we watched a 45 year old...

Sprechen Sie... quoi?
A quarter of the world speaks only one of three languages: Mandarin, English and Spanish
UNESCO recognizes 6,700 languages spoken today.
2,500 of these languages are at risk of extinction.
America is the land where languages go to die: since 1950, 53 languages have died — more than any other country. America also has the highest number of nearly extinct languages.

Ohemgee McImanAmerican
There were some awesomely drunk American teenagers at the Irish bar tonight.
That is all.
TWO WHEELIN
I got a bike today.
It’s like a whole new city out there.
